Setting up Outlook 2007 for Windows.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Select Tools -> Account Settings from the menu.

  1. Select “New” from them window that appears.

Create a New E-Mail Account

  1. Select “Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP” from the list and click “Next”.

  1. Ignore the various input fields, check the box next to “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”, and click “Next”.

  1. Select “Internet E-mail” from the list and click “Next”.

Add New E-Mail Account

  1. Under “User Information”, enter your name and e-mail address in the space provided.
  2. Under “Server Information”, select POP3 for the “Account Type”, and enter mail.idmi.net for both the incoming mail server and outgoing mail server.
  3. Under “Logon Information”, enter your full e-mail address in the “User Name” field, and enter your password in the “Password” field.
  4. Click the “More Settings” button.

Internet E-Mail Settings

  1. Click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.
  2. Check the box next to “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”.

Outgoing Server Settings

  1. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  2. In the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" field, change the number from "25" to "587".
  3. Click "OK".
  4. Click “Next”, and then “Finish”.
  5. Click "Close".
