Connect With a Support Technician

Setting up Outlook Express for Windows.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express.
  2. Select Tools -> Accounts from the menu.

Outlook Express Accounts

  1. Click the “Mail” tab.
  2. Click the “Add” button, and then select “Mail” from the menu that appears.

Add Mail Account

  1. Enter your name in the space provided.
  2. Click the “Next” button.

Outgoing Message Name

  1. Enter your e-mail address in the space provided.
  2. Click the “Next” button.

Email Address Being Setup For Outlook Express

  1. Leave the “My incoming mail server is a” drop down menu set to “POP3”.
  2. Enter “mail.idmi.net” in the spaces provided for “Incoming mail server” and “Outgoing mail server”.
  3. Click the “Next” button.

Incoming And Outgoing Mail Servers

  1. In the “Account Name” field, enter your full e-mail address.
  2. Enter your password in the field provided.
  3. Make sure “Remember Password” is checked.
  4. Click the “Next” button.

Logon Information For Email Account

  1. Click the “Finish” button.
  2. Click on the mail account you just created and then select “Properties”.

Mail Account Properties

  1. In the menu that appears, click on the “Servers” tab.
  2. Check the box next to “My Server Requires Authentication”.
  3. Click the “Settings” button.

Outlook Express Authentication

  1. On the menu that appears, make sure that the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” option is selected.
  2. Click "OK".

Outgoing Mail Server Settings

  1. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  2. Change the number in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" field from "25" to "587".
  3. Click “OK” and then click “Close".
