Standard Apple iOS 10 Setup

General Setup

  • Tap Settings on your home screen.
  • Tap Mail
  • Tap Add Account.
  • Tap Other in the list that appears.
  • Tap Add Mail Account.
  • Enter your name into the Name field.
  • Enter your full email address into the Email field.
  • Enter your current email password into the Password field.
  • In the Description field, you may choose anything you wish to distinguish the account from any others you may have setup.
  • Tap Next.
  • Tap IMAP.
  • The Name, Email, and Description fields should be filled in from the previous screen.
  • For the Incoming Mail Server Host Name, enter email.idmi.net 
  • Enter your full email address in the User Name field.
  • The Password field should already be filled in from the previous screen, else enter your current email password.
  • For the Outgoing Mail Server Host Name, enter email.idmi.net
  • Enter your full email address and password into the User Name and Password fields. Note that these fields are marked as Optional but if left empty, you will not be able to send mail.
  • Tap Next.

  • SSL is enabled by default, resulting in a server identity warning for the incoming server.
  • Tap Details.

 

  • Tap Accept to mark the server certificate as trusted.

 

  • Another server identity warning will pop up for the outgoing server.
  • Tap Details.

  • Tap Accept to mark the server certificate as trusted.

 

  • Select which items you wish to sync with the server by sliding the button by the item to the right to enable it (as pictured below) or sliding the button to the left to disable it.
  • Tap Save to complete.
 

Password Entry

  • Tap Settings on your home screen.
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  • Under Accounts tap your email account.
  • Under IMAP, tap Account.
 
  • Under Incoming Mail Server, enter your new password in the Password field.
  • Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap SMTP email.idmi.net.

 
 
  • Under Primary Server tap email.idmi.net (should be shown as On)
  • Under Outgoing Mail Server, locate the Password field.
  • Enter your new password.
  • Tap Done.
  • You will be returned to the previous screen and may exit the account settings.
 

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Port Configuration

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  • Under Accounts tap your email account.
  • Under IMAP, tap Account.
  • In the Account screen, scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server.
  • Tap SMTP email.idmi.net.
  • Under Primary Server tap smtp.yourdomain.com (should be shown as On)

 
  • Under the Outgoing Mail Server section, locate the Server Port field.
  • Change the port number from 25.
  • Tap Done.
  • You will be returned to the previous screen and may exit the account settings.
