Email Limits

Email Limits:
Email providers place certain limits on email services to the consumer. These limits cover the length of email messages, as well as the quantity of emails sent per hour/day. The charts below outline our limits, as well as the limits of other email providers.

Troubleshooting:
If you are experiencing issues while sending emails through a webmail service provider, some of the following common issues may be occurring. You will also need to be aware of limitations when integrating with a third party application configured to send mail through our servers.
  • If you are integrating with third-party software packages like ActiveFax ServerDDI SystemsStep1, or Prophet21, be sure those outgoing messages using third-party software packages meet our email service limits in order to be sent successfully. If these applications are correctly setup with the server information you received from our support team and you are still experiencing issues, you will need to contact the third-party provider directly.

  • If you have sent an email to over 50 recipients, you will receive an error and the message will not send. You will need to clear this message from your outbox and wait 45-60 minutes. You can then send again by breaking up the recipient list to multiple lists of 50 recipients or fewer. If the recipient's server has a smaller attachment or message size limit, it will reject your message.

  • If the email recipient is using a mail client, such as Outlook 2016, and it has a limit on attachment size, your message may not be received successfully. For example, Outlook 2016 has a 25 MB attachment size limit.
